ROBOMED

Mobile Robot System for Transport and Distribution of Medicines in Hospitals

The project’s purpose is to develop an automatic system of robotized transport to distribute medicines, in unit doses, to the patients. This process will allow the control of the medicines’ traceability in the last phase of their administration, from the moment they go out of the hospital’s pharmacy until they are delivered to the patient.

The system will also be able to be configured for the distribution of medicines to external patients. The transport system has various intelligent and self-propelled robot-car units, connected to the hospital’s computer programs according to the quality and safety standards established in the health care industry. Its implementation will speed up the hospital’s pharmaceutical management and optimize the process of daily patient care given that it records the administrated doses in order to establish a correct monitoring of the treatments.

In PROINGESA we strategically consider the development of this project because, given our specialization in Robotized Hospital Logistics, it will represent the opportunity to become the reference Spanish company in Robotized Transport Systems.

Research project, corresponding to the MICINN INNPACTO 2011 subprogram, coordinated by the company PROINGESA, within the Health Strategic Action in the setting of the National Plan of Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation 2008-2011. It counts on the HispaRob Seal of Quality.
